Dublin's Overhead, The Albatross are delighted to announce the release of their upcoming album 'I Leave You This', an impressive ten-track that promises to enrich post-rock and encourage artists' more adventurous sides. It is unlike anything I have experienced, and I cannot encourage you enough to explore it for yourself from the 15th of November.
The album's opening sees a delicate offering of affirmations in 'A Letter', and thus marks the beginning of its unapologetic venture into the human condition. These guys swing from strength to strength, with their daring to dabble in the vulnerable among their greatest.
The longer tracks, with 'Your Last Breath' and 'Hibakusha' among the most immersive, seem to reincarnate the authenticity underpinning Overhead, The Albatross time and time again. Sensational runtimes averaging nine minutes apiece boast instrumental and lyrical consideration like no other.

A nod to their journey of musical maturity and expansive sound, 'This Is Like Love' is cinematic. Of the track, the band ruminate on how its "layered arrangements and evocative melodies create a sense of longing, as if reaching back to simpler times. While rooted in the past, this song also reflects the band's evolution, crafting a sound that feels both familiar and forward-thinking. It's a celebration of music's power to evoke deep memories and emotions."
Everything about this album feels like a pilgrimage. It not only welcomes emotive response, but delves into what it means to be music of such ability with you; the choice to close on such a poignant high with the spiritual 'Paul Lynch' and its endearing follower 'A Letter 2' proves this companionship wonderfully. 'I Leave You This' is awash with personality, one that you feel more entwined with each time you embark on its intricate path, side by side with its creators.
'I Leave You This', the sophomore album by Overhead, The Albatross, is set for release on the 15th of November via Nice Weather For Airstrikes.
